Lovely old fashioned station. Cafe is great during daytime. Good for lunch or just a quick drink. Good views of tracks for children interested in the trains. During the evening the pub serves nice meals at reasonable prices.

Years since visited, but look out for the brass plaque on the platform near the station entrance (visible on 1st photo) that commemorated the number of cups of tea served to servicemen & women during the First Word War.
Clean cared for station which actually caters for its passengers.Lovely cafe and also a nice pub.Why can't all stations have a few amount of the basic facilities like covered clean waiting areas and clean toilets plus non corperate good and drink facilities.This is almost like a station on a Heritage Line-That's how good it is.
